Appointments

Our approach to scheduling appointments may differ from the norm; we offer two convenient options: online scheduling (available below) or in-office booking. We do not schedule appointments over the phone. Online appointments offer several advantages – they reduce the likelihood of confusion and miscommunication, granting you the flexibility to schedule or cancel appointments at your convenience. They also enable the efficient exchange of information before your visit, improving your overall experience. Our system is both secure and fully compliant with HIPAA regulations. 

Please remember to save your appointment receipt email, which contains a button for canceling or rescheduling your appointment.

To manage our time effectively, we do not provide pre-appointment phone conversations for new or non-established patients, primarily focusing on established patients and adhering to legal requirements.

Due to our reservation system that ensures your allocated time slot, we have a policy of charging for late cancellations or no-show appointments (except for verifiable emergencies). We genuinely prefer not to charge for unused services, so please cancel in advance through your appointment confirmation email, text, or email.

We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO [traditional], Blue Choice PPO, or out-of-pocket payments (prices listed below). We are unable to accommodate HMO plans due to their complexity, as well as Medicaid and Medicare. Please note that Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO must be your primary insurance.

To confirm your in-network status, please review the list of accepted BCBS PPO prefixes below.

 If you cannot find your Member ID prefix in the search above, you have the option to pay out of pocket. In this case, we will be happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

 It's important to note that some Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans may utilize a 'contractor' company to manage mental health services, often with the aim of controlling costs and access to mental health providers. For example, Optum is one such company that manages mental health services for Blue Cross Members. However, please be aware that we do not have a contract with Optum.

Please keep in mind that insurance may not provide complete coverage for the entire visit in every situation. Depending on your mental health coverage, your visits could go toward your deductible or out of pocket resulting in a larger than expected patient responsibility. To check your mental health insurance benefits before your visit, please call the member services number on the back of your Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance card.

Once you are an established patient, please promptly inform us of any changes in your insurance coverage (e.g., obtaining a new insurance plan or provider, or losing insurance coverage) or personal legal information, such as changes in your name or address. 

Failure to notify us of insurance changes prior to your upcoming appointment may result in out-of-pocket charges. If you have any billing inquiries or need to update your insurance information at any time, please reach out to us at billing@ablepsychiatry.com.

 For patients who do not have Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO coverage our out-of-pocket prices are listed below. These charges will need to kindly be settled on the date of service.
